Hello! I'm Wes Willis, but you can call me Brother Wes, I'm the pastor here at The Church At Limestone, and I'm so excited to meet you.
I was born and raised in the East Tennessee (Johnson City, Jonesborough, and Limestone) area. I married my childhood sweetheart Lisa in 1988, and we have four wonderful children—three of whom are now married. We have six beautiful grandchildren. God has blessed us with a beautiful family and we cherish every day that He gives us together. As our family continues to grow, we look forward to what God has in store for us.
PASTOR’S MINISTRY HISTORY
I preached my first service at the age of eight (1974) in a Youth Sunday service at my home church. I was called to the ministry and started preaching in 1996. I first served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and shortly after I began working as a minister to the youth. I have faithfully served in the work of an evangelist, teacher, counselor, and Youth leader for nearly thirty years.
For several years, I had occasionally ministered as a guest speaker for The Church At Limestone -Sheepfold of the Lord. The Lord began to deal with me and call me into a pastoral ministry. After nearly two and a half years of prayer, I answered the call. Brother John Hornyak, the former pastor (and dear friend of mine), felt led to step down and pursue the next phase of his ministry. In May of 2022, after a unanimous vote, I accepted the role of Pastor at The Church At Limestone and preached my first service as Pastor on June 5th, 2022.
If you have read this far, it is time for me to reveal the heart of what my motive and objectives are. There is one Way to eternal life and that is to follow Christ Jesus. Any other device of man, the world, or Satan all lead to separation from God, failure in this life and eternity. The thoughts that are always present with me are how I can better serve God and my fellow man.
I know by experience what walking apart from God can do to our lives and the lives of those around us. In following the Lord, I have found security and peace knowing He is in control. I long to see people come to Christ because in Him is healing emotionally, Spuiritually and physically. Families find healing and loving connection. Young people find wisdom and instruction that can protect them from the pitfalls of life and they come to know God personally with the goal of being led by the Spirit and grounded by the Word. If we fill Young people with the Truth of God's Word they have a protection others lack. I truly want to encourage people to be the church and not just come to church.
If you have any questions about me or our assembly here at Limestone, please feel free to email me and we can then talk on the phone or meet. Also you are always welcome to come and be our guest on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening (Bible Study) and see for yourself what we're all about.
Sincerely,
bro. Wes
